Designer Bios

Designer Jayme Thaler Bio:

Designer Jayme Thaler was born in Brooklyn, where the local culture, style and music of the 70’s and 80’s were his first and strongest influences. Jayme studied at FIT in NYC and Chelsea College of Art & Design in London and has degrees in Graphic, Jewelry and Toy Design.

After several years in the toy industry, Jayme decided to start his own apparel and accessories company called Pvblic. His printing techniques were innovative and influenced design direction for larger, well known brands. The line was carried in top boutiques nationwide including Fred Segal (LA), Opening Ceremony (NYC) and Base (Miami) and as far away as Tokyo by United Arrows and Ships. Pvblic drew strong media attention from the likes of NYLON, Flaunt, Trace, VIBE, Title (Japan), Oyster, Cargo and Details.

Jayme is also a D.J., and runs a music and design house which provides in-store music and special event sound design for top retailers and fashion houses. His past clients have included 3.1 phillip Lim and Matthew Williamson.

Designer Tara Ocello Bio:

At the age of 5, Tara Ocello already knew how to thread a sewing machine. Growing up around New York City, her grandmother was a garment worker who often warned her of the perils of the fashion industry. Still, that fate seemed inevitably in her blood when she learned she was the only person in her graduating class accepted into New York's prestigious Parsons School of Design. The intense education she received there pushed her to win a coveted Thimble award before earning her degree in Fashion Design.

Tara's dark and quirky style, strong graphic design sense and hard-core work ethic has landed her top design positions at Christian Francis Roth, Marc Jacobs & Lucky Brand, to name a few. She takes inspiration from the fantastic worlds of Fairy Tales, the simple fun of retro Video Games, the nostalgia of Classic Rock, and the visual edge of Sci-Fi films.

Tara is proud to be able to make use of her more than ten years of career design experience to become a partner of her childhood friend and creative soul mate Jayme Thaler in his grand re-launch of Pvblic. As head of the Women's Collection, she adds her eclectic style and obsession with detail to the brand.
